Tehran is ready to reinitiate nuclear discussions with Washington as long as it is treated with "respect" and "honor", Tehran's foreign minister has announced.

Abbas Araghchi declared solely negotiations produced results, and disclosed recent overtures had originated from go-betweens to resume negotiations with the Trump administration. He claimed Iran did not have undeclared nuclear sites, and Tehran could not yet allow the UN nuclear inspectorate to access bombed nuclear sites for safety concerns.

Navigating a Challenging Route

The foreign minister is treading a difficult route since Iran aims to avoid be seen to be operating from a situation of disadvantage, and he emphatically stated that Iran had arisen more powerful defensively and psychologically from the joint assault on its enrichment centers in June.

He was addressing at a strategic meeting in Tehran where he reaffirmed that Iran had "a fundamental entitlement to enrich uranium within its borders that it will perpetually retain" – the primary cause of the impasse in the earlier negotiations.

Prior Negotiations Unexpectedly Terminated

The previous five rounds of negotiations between the United States and Iran were brought to an abrupt and hostile end on 12 June when Israel, with American backing, targeted Tehran's atomic facilities in a two-week conflict that ended with Donald Trump claiming the facilities had been eliminated. Subsequently, Western states used their privilege to restore UN-wide sanctions, but Iran asserts they have not had a significant effect.

Magic Solution Proposed

Tehran representatives said they felt they had reached a "ideal resolution" to the uranium processing matter in previous talks, when it was agreed an Iran-based consortium with Washington's engagement could process nuclear material. Each party would have been able to assert triumph since domestic enrichment would have continued and the US could be certain that Iran's atomic project was entirely non-military.

It had not been settled in the negotiations that Washington's technical specialists could work inside Iran, but that was a natural consequence of the consortium proposal. Diplomats asserted three times they had achieved a deal with the US representative Steve Witkoff only for the arrangement to fall apart due to "opponents in the US".

Existing Status

Iran's diplomats stated the partnership proposal was now off the table, but it seems quite possible the suggestion could be revived in various formats if discussions reopen.

The American leader in recent days claimed he had been receiving messages that Iran sought to restart talks, but confidentially Iranian officials claim they are not yet obtaining clear proposals from America either straightforwardly or from significant local go-betweens, such as Qatar, the Egyptian leadership, Oman and Saudi Arabia. The Iranian foreign ministry has been charged of passivity in the face of Trump's direct instinctive approach, but Iran states dialogue is not part of a show.

Diplomatic Standpoint

In his speech to the gathering, aimed to portray the US as a controlling nation that exploits the notion of worldwide standards, the foreign minister declared the 12-day war revealed the dispute could not be resolved by combat operations. He said the strikes started with a US demand for an unconditional Iranian surrender and ended with an complete request for a halt to hostilities.

Araghchi stated: "Tehran was not the one that had deserted diplomacy; it was America and the Western nations that had always tried to enforce their desires during the talks. Repair and Recovery

In what is portrayed by Iran's diplomats as the battle of repair and rebuilding, Araghchi claimed he was certain Iran's defence capabilities "are considerably enhanced than preceding 13 or 14 June of this year.
